Summary: CQWW 2024

As the tradition goes, my amateur radio group LA2T participated in the CQWW SSB contest this year as LN2T.

We were a bit short on operators this year, unfortunately, as three of our most active contest operators were out of town and unable to join participate. We were left behind with three operators with family duties and limited free time, so consequently we were unable to stay on the air for as much as we anticipated. There were several long periods of radio silence.

As a pleasant surprise, I was able to lure my good friend Mikael, LB1DK, to join in as a guest operator. This was his first contest, so hats off to him for diving straight into the deep water, without any prior experience!

All in all, the conditions were pretty good, and we had pileups almost all the time. There were so many operators calling that I was unable to work them all, but I kept my highest pace possible.

We knew we were understaffed, so we entered just to have fun, and with very low expectations regarding the results. Still, we logged just shy of 2900 contacts, so big thanks to everyone who called in!
