Return to Svalbard

I’m planning a new operation from Svalbard, this time accompanied by Kristoffer, LB0VG.

If everything goes according to the plan we’ll arrive Friday, September 13th, and head back home Sunday the 15th.

During our stay we will also attend the WAE DX SSB contest. Before the contest we’ll work all bands, but whenever we need a break from the contest we’ll be on other modes, or simply enjoy the WARC bands for a bit.

Now, I know what you’re thinking, you’re like “oh I’m not going to.. blah-blah.. contest next time!”. And you might be right, I said that. However, the plot twist here is that this is merely a power demonstration of how much I’m able to keep stabbing myself in the back, disappointing my future self over and over again.

Thank goodness I’m not planning to work CW. Phew!

Anyway, for my next visit to Svalbard I have a personal goal to work more CW. Now I’m far from a skilled CW op, but I’ll give it my best shot. I’m certainly not expecting pileups like we had on Market Reef earlier, but as long as people respond I’ll keep calling CQ.

We’re both bringing PA’s so hopefully you’ll hear us at some point.

As always: skeds are welcome for operators who struggle to get JW in the log. QRP, low power, or vy DX? Send me a message and we’ll find the time and frequency to QSO.
