CQWW SSB

My club, LA2T, attended the CQWW SSB contest this year as LN2T. We were six operators working shifts on two stations, and kept the stations occupied almost 20 hours per day. Like before, we didn’t bother to work at night time, since there’s not too much activity at those times. Also, our 80m and 160m antennas are basically dipoles, not the best for hardcore DX-ing.

This test is the equivalent of extreme sports, like motocross and rallying. The bands were jam packed with activity, and it was literally impossible to find a place to call CQ without causing QRM – you just have to find the best possible spot and call, hoping the neighbouring stations won’t be too offended by the QRM.

We worked all bands, 160m-10m, and over the 48 hours we logged 3,257 contacts. My ears are still ringing, but I’m pleased with the end result which is also my club’s best score in CQWW SSB to this day.
